Eleazer Cummings and his eldest son William both died at Sackett`s Harbor , New York as soldiers in the regular Army, Eleazer dying there October 9, 1813 as a private serving in the 21st Massachusetts Infantry Regiment. He was survived by wifev Anna Ward, 2 daughters and 8 more sons, of whom Samuel and Joseph are also known to have taken part in the War of 1812, as miltiamen under Colonel Elnathan Sherwin. - James William Cummings
